Part time (0.4FTTE) | Fixed Term 2025-2026
Cornerstone Christian School is a State-Integrated Christian Special Character Area School (Year 1-13) just outside of Palmerston North. It currently attracts a roll of around 600 fantastic students with dedicated primary, middle and senior schools. We are a well-resourced and super-supportive place to work. We seek an enthusiastic and qualified Secondary Art Teacher to join our team in a part-time position (likely Thursday and Friday each week) starting on 29/1/25 that will allow our TIC Art to conduct Across School Lead (Kāhui Ako) duties for 2025 and 2026. Please note that this role is fixed term as result.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the TIC Art with the teaching and delivery of:
- NCEA Level 1 Art
- NCEA Level 2/3 Art – Painting and Photography
- Year 7-10 Art Modules
Requirements:
- Applicants must be NZ registered teachers with the New Zealand Teaching Council.
- Experience teaching NCEA Level 1-3 Art and Photography.
Terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Area School Teachers’ Collective Agreement – Education in New Zealand (ASTCA). Individuals’ actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
A willingness and ability to uphold the special character of the school, and a willingness and ability to take part in religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school, shall be condition of appointment.

Relief teachers
We require NZ registered relief teachers for our relief teacher pool across all year levels. All staff employed at Cornerstone are required to support and uphold the special character of the school. Please contact one of our Assistant Principals for more information:
